Unit Zero is, hands down, the MOST important unit of the school year.


Helping your students get to know you, the course expectations, and your expectations for how the class will run is foundational to the school year.


Unit Zero is that foundation.


Here are three areas I will delve into deeper in tomorrow’s post:


  1. Syllabus: Course expectations: topics or units that will be covered, materials needed, grading, getting extra help, and contact information

  2. Routines, Procedures and Expectations: for ensuring a productive learning environment

  3. Class Rules: co-created, kind of
