But wait!

Please please please - let's leave curriculum designing to the professionals.
Curriculum designing is no joke.
Curriculum designers put an incredible amount of work into packaging a year's worth of learning into a book with instructions, supplements, assessments, and a teacher's guide - all aligned to grade level standards.
It's fascinating, remarkable, and amazing ...
... annnnd sometimes, we amazing classroom teachers believe we can do better!
SuperTeachers! I strongly advise against creating your own curriculum.
Why?  Â
Simple answerÂ
Because we are not curriculum designers.
Designing curriculum is both an art and a specialized skill. It's probably a course that should be included as part of our teacher preparation and professional development, but until that happens, let's leave it to the professionals.
Why?
Because, when we try to create our own curriculum, we often aim too high or too low, leave things out or including too much - but curriculum designers get it just right!
Now, don't worry there is time and space for you to get your Curriculum "designing" on and that's when you are curating your Curriculum (capital "C").
This is where you bring in supplements and enhancements that make the lesson meaningful and memorable for your students.
I'm talking about props and videos, mini-projects and guest speakers (in-person or virtual).
Curriculum Curating is where we shine.
So shine on SuperTeachers... but please please please ... Leave the curriculum designing to the professionals.
